LG Escape for AT&T receives Android 4.1 Jelly Bean software update

The Escape features a 4.3 inch touch display, 4GB of internal storage which can be expanded through microSD, a 5 megapixel camera capable of 1080p HD video capture, a secondary camera for video calls, and is powered by a 1.2GHz dual-core processor with 1GB of RAM.

LG Optimus 4X HD receives Android 4.1 Jelly Bean software update

The LG Optimus 4X HD is last year's Android flagship and it was previously reported that it would receive the Android 4.1 Jelly Bean software update in the first quarter for 2013. It looks like LG has managed to keep their promise as Android 4.1 is now rolling out to Optimus 4X HD.

However it looks like the update is not being offered (OTA) over-the-air just yet. Instead you will have to use the LG desktop companion update tool if you want to get the update.

Samsung Galaxy S II receives Android 4.1 Jelly Bean software update

The Samsung Galaxy S II has started receiving the  software update. We first saw the update roll-out to devices in Spain back in January. Then earlier in March Samsung started updating the GT-I9100G version of the Galaxy S II, which features the processor from Texas Instruments.

Now the update is rolling out for the Galaxy S II, GT-I9100P which is powered by Samsung’s Exynos 4210 processor.

Sony Xperia TX receives Android 4.1 software update, includes special Sony features

Sony-XPERIA-tx-gxSony Xperia TX owners will be happy to know that their handsets are now receiving the Android 4.1 Jelly Bean software update, just four months after the device was updated to the latest version of Ice Cream Sandwich. Android 4.1 will being the improvements of Project Butter which offer a lag free and smooth performance and the Google Now digital assistant which displays important information based on your location and requirements. Additionally users will also get actionable notifications which lets you return calls, view pictures or videos and read email directly from the notification pane.

Samsung Epic Touch 4G receives Android 4.1 software update

The Samsung Epic Touch 4G for Sprint, which is the carrier's variant of the Samsung Galaxy S II is now receiving the  software update. Additionally the update is also bringing a new version of Samsung's Nature UX which was first introduced on the Samsung Galaxy S III.

If the new TouchWiz is the same version which was released for the international Galaxy S II, users should be able to enjoy features like Smart Stay, motion controls and more.

Samsung Galaxy Stratosphere II for Verizon receives Android 4.1 Jelly Bean software update

The Samsung Galaxy Stratosphere II for Verizon is now receiving the  software update. The update is being rolled out OTA (over-the-air) and in phases starting Wednesday. You should receive a notification when the update is available for your handset, if you don't you can manually check for the update by heading to Settings > About Device > Software Updates > Check Now.

Motorola Droid Bionic will receive Android 4.1 software update in Q2

All eyes were on the Motorola Droid Bionic back at CES 2011 where it was first introduced. Then Motorola would replace the device they revealed with a model with a better form factor which was later launched on September 8th of that year.
Sadly the Droid Bionic would later fade into oblivion making room for the Motorola Droid RAZR and the Motorola Droid RAZR MAXX with its ample 3300mAh battery. However it looks like the Droid Bionic will be getting some new life in the form of  which will arrive for the device during the second quarter of 2013.

Asus Transformer AiO - Hands On and Demo Videos


The Asus Transformer AiO is an all-in-one Windows 8 PC which transforms into an Android 4.1 Jelly Bean tablet. The device features a detachable 18.4 inch touch display with a 1920 by 1080 pixel resolution which is shared with both the PC and the tablet.

The tablet features 32GB of internal storage, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, 1.0 megapixel camera for video calls and is powered by a quad-core NVidia Tegra 3 processor with 2GB of RAM. Meanwhile the PC station has up to 2TB of internal storage, Bluetooth 2.0, Wi-Fi and is powered by up to Intel Core i7 processors with up to 8GB of RAM.

Asus PadFone receives Android 4.1 Jelly Bean software update


The Asus PadFone is now receiving the Android 4.1 Jelly Bean software update. The update which carries 10.2.1.9 and Android 4.1.1 comes in two versions – One for China and one for the rest of the world. You can enjoy all the new features you will expect from Jelly Bean, like the Google Now digital assistant, the performance improvement offered by Project Butter and the enhanced notifications panel.

Motorola Droid 4 receives Android 4.1 software update

The Motorola Droid 4 is now receiving the  software update. We previously reported that the update was on its way for the device, and it looks like that time has finally arrived. The OTA (over-the-air) update will be pushed out in waves, which means that the update may take a few days before it is available for all devices.

The update brings the 18.XT894.Verizon.en.US software version and is around 356MB in size so be sure your device is fully charged and that you are connected to Wi-Fi before attempting to update. If you haven't received the update notification, you can manually check for the update by heading over to Menu > Settings > About Phone > System Updates > Download. If you don’t see it, give it a day or two to be pushed to you device.

Sony Xperia TL for AT&T receives Android 4.1 Jelly Bean


The Sony Xperia TL for AT&T is now receiving the  software update. The Xperia TL features a 4.5 inch touch screen, 16GB of internal storage which can be expanded through microSD, a 13 megapixel camera capable of 1080p HD video capture, a secondary HD camera for video calls and is powered by a 1.5GHz dual-core processor with 1GB of RAM.

Users will receive a notification when the update is available for your devices at which point you can initiate the download. If you haven't received the notification you can manually check for the update by heading to Applications > Settings > About phone > Software update and following the onscreen directions.

HTC One S for Telus in Canada receives Android 4.1 Jelly Bean software update

The HTC One S for Telus in Canada is now receiving the  software update with HTC Sense 4+ included. The update comes a couple of months after the update was pushed to the International version. The update was previously expected in January this year but was later pushed back. With Jelly Bean users will receive several enhancements and benefits including actionable notifications in the notification pane, The ability to easily share videos and photos using Android Beam and improved device stability.

You will receive an OTA update notification when the update is available for your device, but keep in mind that it maybe a day or two before the update is completely rolled out to all handsets. If you miss the notification you can manually check for the update availability by heading over to Settings > About device > Software update to find the download.

Motorola RAZR i receives Android 4.1 Jelly Bean software update in the UK

Motorola has announced that they are rolling out the  software update for the Motorola RAZR i. The device is the first mainstream Android device to be powered by an Intel Medfield processor which is clocked at 2GHz. The RAZR i features a 4.3 inch Super AMOLED touch display, 8GB of internal storage which can be expanded through microSD and an 8 megapixel camera capable of 1080p HD video capture.

The update is bring rolled out in phases with users in France and the UK reporting to have received OTA notifications.

Asus PadFone will receive Android 4.1 Jelly Bean software update next week


If you own one of the original Asus PadFone phone-tablet combos you will be happy to hear that the device is set to start receiving the Android 4.1 Jelly Bean software update as early as next week.

The update will bring several improvements and enhancement you can expect from Jelly Bean, including the Google Now digital assistant and the performance improvements of Project Butter. The update will also offer improved Instant Dictionary capabilities, better camera picture previews, an improved clipboard and an updated File Manager.

LG Optimus 4X HD will receive Android Jelly Bean software update in Q1 2013

The LG Optimus 4X HD will be receiving the Android 4.1 Jelly Bean software update in the first quarter of 2013 according to an email sent by an LG representative. The information is in response to a question raised by a user in Europe, but we can assume that the European launch indicates that a global launch wont be far off.

Another bit of good news is that the Optimux 4X HD will have its bootloader unlocked after the update.

Android 4.1 for Sony Xperia S screenshots leaked

The Sony Xperia S was originally launched with Android 2.3.5 Gingerbread on board, and was subsequently updated to Android 4.0.4 Ice Cream Sandwich. Now its getting set to take its next inevitable step to . However the update isn't expected to arrive on the device until April.

Meanwhile Sony is busy working on the update and some screenshots from the Android 4.1.2 test build have leaked, giving us a preview of what we can expect from the update when it finally lands.

LG Optimus G launches globally, has Android Jelly Bean pre-installed

If you live in the U.S. you would be lucky enough to already have access to the LG Optimus G. However this device has still not been released around the rest of the world until now. LG has announced that they are starting sales of the Optimus G in other countries starting with Singapore late this month, followed by other countries soon after.

The device will have the same specifications across all countries, with LTE in the regions which support it. The only difference is that the international version will have  out of the box, compared to the variant which was released in the U.S. with .

Motorola ATRIX 2 receives leaked Android 4.1 Jelly Bean ROM


If you own a Motorola ATRIX 2 you may be disappointed not to have received the  update. However there is some good news, as an official Android 4.1 ROM has leaked from Motorola China and the developers on XDA have put together a method of getting the leaked ROM installed on your device.

While the developers claim that the ROM is stable, it is important to remember that the ATRIX 2 does not have the required hardware to run this version of Android. Also it is important to note that flashing this ROM will void your device warranty and may cause you to permanently risk your device.

Android 4.1 Jelly Bean coming to the Samsung Galaxy S II

The Samsung Korea website has revealed the upcoming availability of the Android 4.1 Jelly Bean update for the Samsung Galaxy S II. The update will reportedly be made available through the Samsung Kies software and source even lists three carriers which will receive the update but it doesn't mention the schedule in while Samsung plans to release the update.

It’s disappointing that once flagship devices have to spend months waiting for an update while friends with newer models may be enjoying it. Android 4.1 was first announced back in June, and it has taken nearly a year for the update to be prepped for the Galaxy S II
