The LG Optimus 4X HD will be receiving the Android 4.1 Jelly Bean software update in the first quarter of 2013 according to an email sent by an LG representative. The information is in response to a question raised by a user in Europe, but we can assume that the European launch indicates that a global launch wont be far off.Another bit of good news is that the Optimux 4X HD will have its bootloader unlocked after the update.
The Optimus 4X HD features a 4.7 inch touch 720p HD display, 8 megapixel rear camera, 1.3 megapixel video call camera, 16GB of internal storage and is powered by a 1.5GHz quad-core processor from NVidia. This makes it one of the top handsets in the market at the moment and the update will be most welcome by its users.
The Jelly Bean update will open the device to several enhancements including the Google Now digital assistant and the buttery performance enhancements of Project Butter among other improvements and enhancements.
