Qualcomm unveils 64-bit Snapdragon 810 and Snapdragon 808 processors

Qualcomm, whose chips are available in most popular mobile devices, have revealed their next generation of mobile processors - the Snapdragon 808 and Snapdragon 810. The new chips are two generations ahead of the Snapdragon 801, which was recently featured in handsets like the Samsung Galaxy S5 and the Sony Xperia Z2.

The Snapdragon 801 will be followed by the Snapdragon 805, which is expected to arrive in the summer, while the newly announced chips will make its way to our smartphones and tablets in the first half of next year.

Qualcomm announces new 64-bit octa-core Snapdragon 615 and quad-core Snapdragon 610

Qualcomm SnapdragonQualcomm has just announced the Snapdragon 615 octa-core processor, which has eight 64-bit ARM Cortex A53 cores. It will be joined by the Snapdragon 610 quad-core processor, which is also 64-bit capable.

Both new SoCs include Adreno 405 GPUs, and come with LTE Cat 4 support, while also integrating “critical 3G technologies, including HSPA+ (up to 42Mbps), CDMA, and TD-SCDMA.”

Snapdragon BatteryGuru is an Android app by Qualcomm which helps improve your battery life on devices powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon processors. The app is currently in beta stage and is designed to help manage the connection that various apps have with the Internet. Once you install the app it will learn how your apps interact with the Internet and will use what it learns to make your apps within 2 – 4 days.

Qualcomm introduces its new Snapdragon mobile processor lineup at CES 2013


Qualcomm has announced that they will be retiring their S1, S2, S3 and S4 series mobile chips and introducing a new generation of processors. The new chips will remain under the Snapdragon name but will have new number identifiers – 200, 400, 600 and 800. They also promise to offer impressive advances in power and speed.

Qualcomm ships first dual-core CPU 1.2GHz Snapdragon chipset for smartphones

Qualcomm incorporated, a leading developer and innovator of wireless technologies, products and services, announced today that the company had sampled their first dual-CPU snapdragon chipset. The Mobile Station Modem MSM8260 and MSM8660 solutions integrate two of the Company’s enhanced cores running at up to 1.2GHz.
