[Android app] Google's Inbox by GMail updated (1.1)

Inbox by GMailGoogle has released an updated version of Inbox by GMail for Android which brings a few visual enhancements to the Material Design interface of the app which makes it more consistent with Google's other Android apps. Inbox by GMail is a new way to manager your email in a to-do list style.

The update should soon be available through the Google Play Store, but you can alternately download the official APK file using the following link:

If you dont want to wait for the official update to arrive on the Google Play Store, you can download the official APK using the following link

Firstly those running the Android L Preview release or Android 5.0 Lollipop on one of the new Nexus devices will note that the Action Bar on the top will now blend and match the color of the Inbox tab. This feature will not be visible on older version of Android, where the transparency is used to achieve this effect.

Additionally users will notice that the slide-out navigation menu now covers the action bar when it is opened. This is one of those enhancements which makes the Inbox app more consistent with Google's other Android applications.

Finally, opening the menu and then sliding from left to right on the upper section, where your email address and personal profile image sits, will automatically scroll through multiple email accounts. If you have only one email connected it does nothing, if you have more than one, it switches Inbox to the next account and closes the menu. This is consistent with the design on the recently released Gmail for Android version 5.0.

Besides this we can expect the latest version of Inbox for Android will also include the usual bug fixes and performance improvements one would expect from such routine updates.
