Microsoft unveils Xbox Music, with 30 million tracks at launch

XboxMusic
Microsoft’s codenamed Woodstock music service has now been unveiled as Xbox Music. The service will not only be available through the Xbox but also through Windows 8 PCs and Windows Phone devices.

Microsoft did not share too much during the demonstration but stated that the service will debut with 30 million songs and feature the smart DJ service currently available through Zune.

It is very likely that Microsoft is taking the steps to do away with the Zune branding in favor of Xbox which is known better around the world.

We hope that Microsoft will share more information on this service in the coming months. Surprisingly it has not made its way to the Windows 8 Release Preview but expect to see the service appear in the form of a beta quite soon.
