[Android app] Google Play Music updated with Material Design

Google Play Music for AndroidGoogle Play Music for Android has been updated to version 5.7.1717Q.1530520 which brings an updated user interface and icon based on Google's Material design language. The update also brings features from Google's recent acquisition of Songza to your "Listen Now" section. Google Play Music makes it easy to discover, play and share your music. With our new All Access service, you can enjoy millions of songs, listen to custom radio with no limits, and discover more of the music you love.

You can download the update directly on your device through the Google Play Store or by using the following link:

With the Songza integration in the Listen Now section, you can choose what you're doing - working, driving, taking an autumn stroll - from a list that will change based on the time of day. Then, you choose the type of music you want to hear within that category. The idea is that what you're doing feeds into the tempo and energy level of the music, then you choose the genre you want. So, within the "Autumn stroll" category, you have options for "a soulful stroll", "an acoustic excursion", "a hip hop stride", and more. Google is saying that this is only available for subscribers, meaning you'll have to be paying for All Access in order to get the Songza features.

The update also reorganizes things a bit. One change we love is that the recommended music and playlists have been separated from your "recent activity" rather than having the two mixed together. Otherwise, the only real changes are to the UI with the new Material design look and animations.

Google usually rolls out their apps to the Google Play Store in stages, so in case you have still not received the latest version of Google Play Music, you could consider downloading the official APK by following the source link below.
