Nokia Lumia 830 officially announced with 10MP OIS PureView camera

The was announced today at Microsoft's IFA 2014 event, as Nokia's first affordable PureView device. The handset features a 10 megapixel rear camera with optical image stabilization and a design clearly inspired by the Lumia 1020.

However the overall design of the device has evolved a lot since the Lumia 1020, now with a removable back cover, and hardware capacitive buttons. You get a 5 inch 720p HD ClearBlack display, 16GB of internal storage which can be expanded through microSD, and a quad-core Snapdragon 400 processor with 4GB of RAM.

The Lumia 830 will run Windows Phone 8.1 with Lumia Denim. The new Lumia Denim update introduces the ability to use the phrase "Hey, Cortana" to launch the digital personal assistant. The Denim update also brings geofencing to Cortana, which can recognize geographic areas for assisting in reminders and tasks. Denim also improves the camera application. The start-up process is faster, the camera is quicker to capture individual shots and adds a quick-capture mode that records 4K video and 8.7-megapixel images. The software can extract individual shots from the video to make for better images.
