HTC Desire 816 - Video Review

HTC Desire 816

The is a mid-range variant of the company's flagship, which strikes a great balance between price and features with its generous 5.5-inch display, quad-core processor, and 13MP camera. It also borrows some of its best features from the HTC One M8, including the Sense 6.0 user interface and the front facing BoomSound stereo speakers.

The HTC Desire 816 can be yours for $400 off-contract, which seems like a great deal if you are willing to give up on the signature metal build of HTC phones. Still you get a good value for money ratio with its solid build quality, large 720p display, and its snappy UI performance. Its 13MP rear camera and 5MP front camera provide very decent photos and the Snapdragon 400 processor is capable of handling most modern tasks and apps.

Alternatives to the HTC Desire 816 include the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 Neo, which offers an eye-catchy 5.5 inch Super AMOLED display and a very capable hexa-core Exynos SoC. However it comes with a higher price. You could also consider the Sony Xperia T2 Ultra, which comes with a larger screen and a bigger battery with excellent endurance. But again you have to be willing to spend more than the Desire 816.
