Apple has released the iOS 7.1.2 software update for compatible iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch devices. The update fixes a bug related to encryption of email attachments and iMessage delivery. Additionally it fixes a bug related to the lock-screen. Those who have iOS 7.1.1 or older, are highly recommended to download and install the iOS 7.1.2 update on their devices.
The email attachments encryption bug first came to light a few months back, with security expert Andreas Kurtz having demoed the issue by means of a YouTube clip, and given how swiftly Apple usually attends to such bugs, it is surprising how long it has taken for this fix to arrive.
If you're not jailbroken, it's important that you grab iOS 7.1.2 right now. The full official changelog of iOS 7.1.2 is as follows:
This update contains bug fixes and security updates, including:
- Improves iBeacon connectivity and stability
