Earlier today, iOS security researcher, i0n1c tweeted out a photo which showed the iPhone 5c jailbroken on iOS 7.1.1 and running Cydia version 1.1.9. The tweet stated that the jailbreak was based on a kernel bug. Winocm followed it up with a video demoing iOS 7.1.1 untethered jailbreak on a GSM iPhone 4, and stating that jailbreaking other devices would also be possible with some effort.

With the iOS 8 unveiling expected in June at WWDC, its unlikely that the jailbreak community will make their iOS 7.1.1 exploit public. Its still good to know that jailbreak community is well and truly alive, working on finding new exploits that can be potentially used in future jailbreaks.
