Acer Iconia Tab 8

Today Acer announced the Acer ICONIA TAB 8 Android tablet, not long after introducing the Acer ICONIA TAB 7. The newest tablet from Acer features a larger 8 inch display and falls into the company's high end tablet category.

The display comes with a 1200 by 1920 pixel resolution and features anti-fingerprint coating. The device also has an "anodized silver metal back cover" in an 8.5 inch thin frame, all of which weighs just 350 grams offering a somewhat premium experience.

The ICONIA TAB 8 runs Android 4.4 KitKat and features  up to 32GB of internal storage which can be expanded through microSD, a 5 megapixel rear camera, a 2 megapixel front camera and a quad-core Intel Atom Z3745 processor with 2GB of RAM. The overall user experience should be smooth for most multimedia and multitasking needs.

Acer expects to launch the Iconia Tab 8 in the third quarter of the year (thus starting July) for €199. The company didn't specify the markets where the tablet will be available, so for now we don’t know if it’s going to be released in the US.
