Samsung Galaxy Note 3 for Sprint receives Wi-Fi calling with update

Sprint is rolling out  a software update to the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 on its network which brings the Wi-Fi calling features to its customers. With Wi-Fi calling, users can make free domestic calls and texts over a Wi-Fi network, thus sparing your monthly allocation of voice minutes.

The update will take owners of the phablet to software version N900PVPUCNC5, and is being sent out OTA. Sprint's version of the Samsung Galaxy Mega 6.3, and the Samsung Galaxy S4 mini, both received this feature in February via an OTA update.

If the update hasn't hit your Sprint branded Samsung Galaxy Note 3, there is no need to pout, kick the neighbor's cat, or even kick the neighbor. The update containing Wi-Fi calling is being sent out on a staggered basis, which means that it won't be sent to everyone at once. The carrier says it could take several days for the update to reach your phone.

Sprint has said that it will be adding the Wi-Fi calling feature to additional Android models as the year progresses.
