Alcatel announces new Android phones at MWC

Alcatel has launched a new lineup of Android smartphones at the ongoing Mobile World Congress - One Touch Idol 2, One Touch Idol 2 Mini, the One Touch Idol 2S and One Touch Pop Fit.

First we have the Alcatel One Touch Idol 2, which features a 5.0 inch touch display with a 540 by 960 pixel resolution, 8GB of internal storage which can be expanded through microSD, an 8 megapixel rear camera, a 2 megapixel front camera, and a 1.3GHz quad-core processor with 1GB of RAM. The One Touch Idol 2 will also have a dual-SIM variant and runs Android 4.2 Jelly Bean.

The second phone is the Alcatel One Touch Idol 2 Mini which comes with a 4.5 inch touch display, 4GB of internal storage which can be expanded through microSD, an 8 megapixel rear camera, a 2 megapixel front camera, and a 1.2GHz quad-core processor with 1GB of RAM. It runs Android 4.3 Jelly Bean out of the box but Alcatel says that an update to Android 4.4 KitKat is on its way later this year.

The third phone is the Alcatel One Touch Idol 2 S which features a 5.0 inch touch display, 8GB of internal storage which can be expanded through microSD, an 8 megapixel rear camera, a 1.3 megapixel front camera, and a 1.2GHz quad-core processor with 1GB of RAM. It runs Android 4.3 Jelly Bean out of the box but Alcatel says that an update to Android 4.4 KitKat is on its way later this year.

Last but not least we have the Alcatel One Touch Pop Fit which features a 2.8 inch touch display, 4GB of internal storage which can be expanded through microSD, a 2 megapixel rear camera, and a 1GHz dual-core processor with 512MB of RAM. Alcatel says its a wearable smartphone, so it gets accessories like armband case etc.

Although the availability is not known yet, the prices were announced by Alcatel. The One Touch Idol 2 is priced at 199 Euros (USD 273.43), the One Touch Idol 2 Mini is priced at 169 Euros (USD 232.21) and One Touch Pop Fit at 89 Euros (USD 122.29).
