Motorola DROID Xyboards receive Android 4.1 Jelly Bean software update

Back in July, Motorola revealed that they will be bringing  to both Motorola DROID Xyboard models. Now 4 months later, the update is finally rolling out to the Motorola DROID Xyboard 10.1 and the Motorola DROID Xyboard 8.2

The Jelly Bean update with give both tablets the responsiveness of Project Butter, the instant information from Google Now and the ability to respond from the notification shade, the update adds improvements to the stability of the OS and also improves Wi-Fi connectivity.

The update is being pushed OTA (over-the-air) and you should receive a notification once it is available for your device. While the update is long overdue, especially since devices are now welcoming Android 4.4 KitKat, Motorola and Verizon customers would be relieved that their tablets have not been fully forgotten.

This is quite a significant update for both devices which were launched with Android 3.2 Honeycomb onboard. Both tablets are powered by 1.2GHz dual-core TI OMAP 4430 CPU with 1GB of RAM and should feel new and refreshed with the update.
