HTC promised that the Android 4.4 KitKat update would begin rolling out to the HTC One by the end of January, but HTC has tweeted out that the unlocked and developer editions of the One are starting to get the Android KitKat and Sense 5.5 update starting today.
HTC Sense 5.5 is currently available on the HTC One max, which means it will include the ability to turn off BlinkFeed if you don't want it. The update also brings several enhancements to the HTC One camera. From Google you will get the performance improvements and security enhancements offered by KitKat along with the new dialer. But as you may know by now the Google Experience launcher will remain an exclusive to the Google Nexus 5.
The update is being pushed out OTA (over-the-air) and you will receive a notification when it is available for your device. Since such updates generally roll out in phases, it maybe awhile before it reaches all devices. So if you don't get it right away, just be patient and it'll arrive eventually.
