The Assassin's Creed franchise has grown into one of the top gaming franchises over the past few years. With the Xbox One and PlayStation 4 launching so recently, Ubisoft today remind everyone that it is committed to mobile platforms too with the announcement of a new, standalone game for iOS and Android.
Titled "Assassin’s Creed: Pirates," the game will be available on both iOS and Android from December 5th and will cost just $5. According to a release on its website, Ubisoft says that the game will be played on in the Caribbean with gamers taking charge of Alonzo Batilia, a young and ambitious captain. By managing their crew and gaining new members as they go, gamers will increase their own abilities while battling it out on the high seas.
Assassin's Creed: Pirates is loosely based on Assassin’s Creed 4: Black Flag, and takes the franchise to the ocean with gamers travelling from port to port while improving their ship’s arsenal and recruiting new crew members. The game world promises to be a large one too, with volcanic shores and paradise islands promised throughout.
Ubisoft has developed a bespoke engine for the game with apparently breakthrough 3D visuals being displayed on both smartphones and tablets. However with the range of different devices in the market, the experience should differ based on the device you own.
We are a little disappointed that the developer has not decided to release the title for Windows Phone,
