The Final version of Apple's OS X (10.9) Mavericks is now available for download through the Mac App Store. OS X Mavericks was first announced at the Worldwide Developer Conference and brings the first break from the series of 'big cat' names used in Apple's desktop OS releases. The update brings a few new features and improvements making Apple's desktop platform more in line with the company's mobile OS.OS X Mavericks is available as a FREE download for eligible devices and can be downloaded directly through the Mac App Store on your device or through the following link:

Apple's new strategy to offer free OS updates for their desktop platform will hopefully help with the bringing in new users. The company was also quick to point out how expensive upgrading to Windows was in comparison. If you purchase a new Mavericks device you will also be eligible for FREE copies of Apple's iWork and iLife suites.

Mountain Lion was perhaps a more significant update in that it brought a handful of iOS-like features to the fore with iMessage, Game Center, Reminders and the Notification Center, but there are still plenty of goodies to be enjoyed with Mavericks.
