Earlier this week, the Motorola Moto X for T-Mobile received a new software update which brought several enhancements to the camera along with other improvements. Now the update is rolling out to devices on Sprint's network.
The update brings the 13.9.0Q2.X-116-MX-17-57-1 build number and the same list of features offered to T-Mobile users. They include a few minor bug fixes for Moto Care and Motorola Assist Driving Detection, improved voice quality, enhanced touchless control accuracy and tons of camera improvements.
Specifically, the updated camera software should deliver better color accuracy, improved exposure for backlit/outdoor scenes, enhanced auto-white balance performance and reduced noise for low-light scenes. Additionally, the handset should now provide faster touch to focus time and faster switching between the rear and front-facing cameras.
If the update has yet to reach you yet, don’t worry – it’s coming. Sprint has confirmed the update will rollout in stages, so it may take a few days to reach everyone. If you have not received a notification about the update, you can try to pull it out manually by going from Settings > About Phone > System Updates > Download > Install.
Apparently a soak test has now begun for a new AT&T Moto X software update. While details are scarce about the update, it seems likely that this software upgrade is the same one that has already been received by T-Mobile and Sprint users. Considering Verizon's history with software updates, it will likely be the last of the carriers to push out the update.
