Nokia Lumia 1520, Nokia Lumia 2520 and four other devices to be unveiled on October 22nd

Nokia has scheduled Nokia World 2013 for October 22 in Abu Dhabi and we know its time for some new announcements from the company. Several rumors and reports which have been circulating over the last few days expect plenty of firsts from Nokia during the event.

The Nokia Lumia 1520 is expected to be among the unveiled devices, as Nokia's first phablet. The device is expected to feature a 6 inch display with a 1080 by 1920 resolution and a quad-core processor. Both features will come courtesy of Windows Phone 8 GDR3, which finally enables Windows Phones to compete with high end Android devices in the market. The device is expected to be headed to AT&T with Verizon getting their own phablet called the Nokia Lumia 929.

The Nokia Lumia 2520 (Sirius) tablet is also expected to be unveiled during the event. This would be the first Windows RT tablet from Nokia. The Lumia 2520 has already leaked out in red showing a Verizon logo and confirming its final destination at launch. The device is expected to feature a 10.1 inch display and powered by a 2.15GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon processor. The tablet is also expected to feature a keyboard accessory similar to the Power Cover on the new Surface, which will extend the tablet battery.

Both the Nokia Lumia 1520 phablet and the Nokia Lumia 2520 tablet are expected to launch in November, following their October unveiling. Aside from these devices, Nokia is also expected to unveil four other Nokia devices along with a number of new accessories. We also wonder if we will see a Microsoft Lumia smartphone unveiled at the event.

We don't know how Microsoft plans to market Nokia products under its management, and the upcoming lineup could be the last time that we see Nokia introducing new phones and tablets as an independent company.
