The LG Optimus 4X HD is last year's Android flagship and it was previously reported that it would receive the Android 4.1 Jelly Bean software update in the first quarter for 2013. It looks like LG has managed to keep their promise as Android 4.1 is now rolling out to Optimus 4X HD.
However it looks like the update is not being offered (OTA) over-the-air just yet. Instead you will have to use the LG desktop companion update tool if you want to get the update.
Also keep in mind that the update will only work for carrier unlocked versions of the Optimus 4X HD and not for any of the devices which are tied down to a carrier. It isn't yet certain when carrier locked devices will get getting the update.
The Android 4.1 Jelly Bean update for the LG Optimus 4X HD will bring great features including the performance improvements of Project Butter, the Google Now digital assistant and the enhancements to the notifications.
