You will receive an OTA update notification when the update is available for your device, but keep in mind that it maybe a day or two before the update is completely rolled out to all handsets. If you miss the notification you can manually check for the update availability by heading over to Settings > About device > Software update to find the download.
Make sure that your battery is fully charged and that you are connected to your Wi-Fi before attempting to perform the update.
Strangely the change-log doesn't mention Google Now as one of the features of the update, which was mentioned in the Jelly Bean update for the HTC One X for Telus. It is probably just an oversight but as Google Now and the performance improvements of Project Butter are part of the core features of Jelly Bean.
