Apple iPhone 5 for T-Mobile officially announced



The Apple iPhone 5 for T-Mobile has been officially announced. It will be available for purchase starting April 12th and will cost an on-contract price of $99. The device will be compatible with the carrier’s new and developing 4G LTE network. With this announcement T-Mobile joins the other major carriers in the U.S. to offer the Apple iPhone.

The iPhone 5 will be available through T-Mobile’s new UNcarrier branding, which means you wont have to sign up for a contract to get the subsidized phone. Instead the carrier will charge customers $99 for the device upfront and then an additional $20 a month for 20 months. You can alternately pay the full retail price for the device. The iPhone 5 for T-Mobile will launch will support for AWS HSPA+ as well as 4G LTE, it will also support HD voice.



T-Mobile will also be offering the Apple iPhone 4S, and the Apple iPhone 4 in select markets. Unfortunately no information was available regarding their availability.

Now that the iPhone is available on T-Mobile the carrier can now shift their focus to improveing their networks and roling out 4G LTE across other markets.
