[Android app] Google Play Movies updated, offers info cards similar to Amazon’s X-Ray
The Google Play Movies & TV for Android app has been updated and adds a new info card feature similar to Amazon’s X-Ray function. Google Play Movies & TV allows you to watch movies and TV shows purchased on Google Play.
You can download the update directly on your device through the Google Play Store or by using the link which follows:
Google Play Movies & TV for Android lets you stream your content instantly on your Android phone or tablet, or download so you can watch from anywhere, even when you’re not connected. Also, get quick access to your personal video collection, including those taken on your phone or tablet.
The update allows you to view information about an actor when you pause the video which is playing. You will get personal information about the actor like name, birthday and home town. You will also get additional cards with likes to other movies the actor is in.
The feature isn't yet available on all movies and is currently only available in the U.S. However Google claims that it is already available on “hundreds” of titles and promises that more will be added all the time. We did try it out with Transformers: Dark of the Moon, but had no luck.
