Asus PadFone will receive Android 4.1 Jelly Bean software update next week
If you own one of the original Asus PadFone phone-tablet combos you will be happy to hear that the device is set to start receiving the Android 4.1 Jelly Bean software update as early as next week.
The update will bring several improvements and enhancement you can expect from Jelly Bean, including the Google Now digital assistant and the performance improvements of Project Butter. The update will also offer improved Instant Dictionary capabilities, better camera picture previews, an improved clipboard and an updated File Manager.
The Asus PadFone features a 4.3 inch touchscreen display, a 5 megapixel camera in the rear, a front facing camera for video calls up to 64GB of internal storage which can be expanded through microSD and is powered by a 1.5GHz dual-core processor with 1GB of RAM.
The device can be extended into a tablet using the optional tablet docking accessory and an additional keyboard dock allows you to transform your device into a portable netbook.
This transformation allows the entire device to be powered by the smartphone making it a popular product among users. Hopefully the release of Jelly Bean for the PadFone indicates that it’s successor the Asus PadFone 2 will also be receiving the update very soon.
