The Motorola Atrix HD for AT&T is now receiving the Android 4.1 Jelly Bean update. You can check if the update is available for your device by heading over to Settings > About Phone > Software Updates and clicking Check for Updates.
The Jelly Bean update for the Atrix HD brings new features like Google Now and the performance improvements from Project Butter. The update will also offer the other features and updated apps from Motorola and AT&T
Motorola started a soak test for the Atrix HD back in November, and the release would indicate that the soak test was successful and all the bugs have been fixed. Recent soak tests from Motorola generally only last hours or days rather than weeks, but it seams that the Jelly Bean has been a substantial update considering the time it has taken to be released.
The update brings AT&T’s the Drive Smart feature with the update, in an attempt to promote their It Can Wait campaign, to make it safer to drive while staying connected.
The Drive Smart app features enhanced voice search and SMARTACTIONS Drive Rules which sets the device to auto-reply calls and texts and enable hands free conversations.
With the update notifications from the same application are now grouped together and users can expand or collapse notifications. Users can also view a full text of an SMS or the full photo from an MMS directly from the notification window. Event notifications now display more of the event information so you can see relevant information without having to open the app. With Jelly Bean users can respond to a missed call through a text with just a single touch.
The Quick Settings feature allows you to quickly switch your Wi-Fi connection on/off or you can head into the detailed settings. The Filmstrip mode allows users to quickly browse through and delete photos they don’t want by swiping up or down. The camera app has also been updated and offers users the ability to check their focus quality.
