A couple of days ago we reported that the international HTC One S was receiving the Jelly Bean software update. It now turns out that select members of the HTC One S for T-Mobile were being invited to an exclusive program to trial Android 4.1 Jelly Bean on their devices. This program is limited to a select group of customers who are in the good graces of HTC and get access to exclusive beta tests.
The release of a beta can only indicate that the final version of Android 4.1 for the HTC One S for T-Mobile maybe just around the corner.
Android 4.1 Jelly Bean will bring the smooth performance of project butter along with Google Now which will help you keep track of your weather, traffic conditions, sports updates along with other special updates. It will also bring the other security enhancements you will expect from Jelly Bean.
The update is also expected to bring an updated HTC Sense 4+ UI, better camera performance, a new landing page and events/map view in the gallery. The update is also expected to bring improved battery life and better power management.
Unfortunately there is no indication on how long it will be before beta testing has concluded and the final version is released to customers. If the testing goes well and T-Mobile signs off on the update, we may have access to the update sooner rather than later.
