Google has continued to improve the features of Android over the last few months, with new features, improvements and an streamlined user interface. But one of the most intriguing features have been Google Now, the company’s intelligent personal assistant which was named ‘Innovation of the Year’ for 2012 by Popular Science.
Now it looks like the company is planning to bring Google Now to its Chrome web browser. While Google hasn't made any official announcements in this regard, recent additions to Chromium suggest that it wont be long before Google Now becomes a core part of our web browsing experience.
The Chrome web browser has continued to grow in popularity over the last few months, and continues to win over market share from Mozilla’s Firefox and Internet Explorer. Combined with Android’s popularity, adding Google Now features to Chrome will only improve the browser’s popularity.
Currently the Chrome browser shows very little indication of what we can expect from the final version of Google Now for Chrome, but if you like testing pre-release products, be sure to get the latest release of Chromium to you can be among the first to see its implementation.
Google will also hope to improve their market share with Chrome OS, which is still struggling to make a name for itself as a desktop platform. Bringing popular Android features across their own platforms is a great way to get started.
