The Nokia Lumia 920 came under controversy over its images and video samples being simulated. The Lumia 920 was demonstrated featuring Optical Image Stabilization (OSI) and Amazing low light image quality. But when some of the photo samples and image samples were challenged to be fakes, Nokia came forward and issued a statement in regard to their newest flagship device.
“ The Lumia 920 pictures in this post were taken using prototype hardware and software, and then reduced dramatically in size. In addition, the OIS video, above, was not shot using the Lumia 920”.
Nokia also went on to say
“ In an effort to demonstrate the benefits of optical image stabilization (which eliminates blurry images and improves pictures shot in low light conditions), we produced a video that simulates what we will be able to deliver with OIS”.So Nokia claims their new Lumia 920 can deliver DSLR quality photos in low light and help reduce image blurriness.
The Photos and videos which Nokia latest posted claiming to be captured by a prototype Lumia 920 look very impressive.
So can we forgive Nokia’s marketing fiasco gone bad? The Lumia 920 definitely gives us a new perspective into smartphone photography.
