Apple iPhone 5 vs. Samsung Galaxy S III - Display quality test analysis

A recent analysis on the 4-inch Retina display of the the Apple iPhone 5 has shown it to be better than the 4.8 Super AMOLED display of the Samsung Galaxy S III. The analysts claim that this has to do with the 20 years of refinement of the IPS LCD screen on the iPhone compared to the OLED display developed by Samsung.

The extensive report goes on to praise the iPhone 5 for having the highest Contrast Rating for High Ambient Light score on any mobile device. The report also showed that the power limits inherent with OLED displays result in the screen of the Galaxy S III being half as bring as the one on the iPhone 5.

Regarding the Color Gamut and Color Accuracy, the analysts claim that Apple has made a strong effort  in making colors very accurate on the iPhone, while Samsung hasn't calibrated the Color Gamut on the OLED screen which results in widely inaccurate color representation including over saturation of colors which is a standard on AMOLED displays.
