Nokia Lumia 1001 - Upcoming Windows Phone 8 device revealed?

We know that many manufactures including Nokia are hard at work on their Windows Phone 8 devices in time for its launch this fall, but we don’t know any information on any such devices until now.

Recently a new device in the Lumia Series was discovered through Nokia’s Remote Device Access (RDA) system. The device labeled Nokia Lumia 1001 could very well be a glimpse of one of Nokia’s upcoming Windows Phone 8 handsets.

We know that the announcement of pretty much spelled the end for the Windows Phone 7 platform. So any new hardware Nokia or any other manufacturer is working on would like be a new WP8 device.

The was also first discovered through the RDA, back last year when it was listed as the Nokia 900 Windows Phone. But we are uncertain if Nokia is being careless or if they intentionally have leaked the name out.

However we know that not all devices from the labs end up finding their way to the public. The Nokia Lumia 910 which was rumored to follow the Lumia 900 with a 12 MP camera on board never saw the light of day. Furthermore Nokia’s Damian Dinning even denied the existence of such a device.

Is the Nokia Lumia 1001 going to be the company’s first Windows Phone 8 device ? Well, we cant know for sure yet, but we know that WP8 is coming and that there will be new hardware to follow.
