iOS 5.0.1 (9A406) - Released again for iPhone 4S

Apple originally released iOS 5.0.1 back in November, but now Build 9A406 of iOS 5.0.1 has been releases specially for the Apple iPhone 4S. It is aimed at squashing the battery issues which have been plaguing the device since it's launch. Customers have complained of the battery depleting by 10% per hour leaving their iPhones dead over night.

This isn't the first time Apple has undergone issues with newly released hardware. The iPhone 4 faced antenna issues which couldn't be fixed through software and saw Apple giving away free bumpers to customers in hopes of making up for the issue.

iOS 5.0.1 was previously released with the intention of putting an end to the battery woes, but when users continued to complain Apple had to go back to the drawing board.

The subsequently released iOS 5.1 beta to developers and made us wonder if they were planning the battery fix with the upcoming update which promised to bring improvements to Apple voice assistant Siri. But it looks like iOS 5.1 is going to take it's time to come out with the new release of iOS 5.0.1 aiming to get the job done.

So if you are one of the iPhone 4S users suffering from battery issues you can download the new build of iOS and see if Apple has fixed their little mistake.
For other iOS devices download iOS 5.0.1 here.
