HTC reveals which handsets will receive Android 4.0

HTC previously reported that they will be bringing Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich (ICS) to their high end handsets. Now they have named some of the devices which will be receiving the latest version of Android.

HTC has revealed the first few devices which will receive Android ICS on their Facebook page. The official announcement follows:

HTC knows how excited our fans are to get their hands on Google's latest version of Android, Ice Cream Sandwich, so we're thrilled today to announce the first wave of HTC phones that will receive upgrades. Ice Cream Sandwich is coming in early 2012 to a variety of devices including the HTC Sensation, HTC Sensation XL and HTC Sensation XE, as well as the HTC Rezound*, HTC EVO 3D, HTC EVO Design 4G* and HTC Amaze 4G* through close integration with our carrier partners. We're continuing to assess our product portfolio, so stay tuned for more updates on device upgrades, timing and other details about HTC and Ice Cream Sandwich.

So it looks like almost all of HTC's current high end handsets will be receiving Android 4.0 by early 2012. We are curious to how HTC will integrate their Sense UI into the new version of Android and if we will see a new version of Sense gracing Android ICS. Only time will tell, but meanwhile if you are an owner of one of the devices mentioned above, you can breath a sigh of relief.
