Windows Phone 7 sees stronger sales in Europe

Windows Phone had a large hurdle to climb when it was released alongside Apple's iOS and Google's Android, but which was probably it's biggest hurdle was it's own Windows Mobile platform which drew much of it's customers away. It doesn't look like the U.S. market is too forgiving as Windows Phone sales don't seam to pick up despite the high quality of the operating system and Microsoft's marketing methods.

ComScore reports (Oct 2010 - Dec 2010) have shown that while the sales in the U.S. are poor, Western Europe has seen the Windows Phone share grow by 100%. This is despite the fact that Windows Phone was not released in many languages.

While iOS and Android still rule the roost in both the U.S. and Europe, we will hopefully see some change in the years ahead.
