Google Nexus S receives Android 2.3.2 software update


Google has started rolling out an update for Nexus S users. The update Android 2.3.2 (build GRH78C) is 600KB in size. While the changelog for this update has still to be released, it fixes the SMS bug which used to send text messages to the wrong contact.

While the update should arrive on your devices soon OTA (Over The Air) you can download and install it manually by following the steps below:

  1. Download the official Android 2.3.2 update file here.
    -
  2. Copy the file to the root of your SD card.
    -
  3. Power off your phone
    • Hold 'Volume Up',
    • Followed by 'Power' button to turn the device back on.
      -
  4. Use the volume rocker to navigate to the 'Recovery' option and select it using the 'Power' button.

  5. When you see an exclamation mark (!) image on your screen:
    • Hold 'Power' button,
    • Followed by 'Volume Up' button.
      -
  6. You will now see the Android recovery menu
    • Select 'Apply update from memory card'.
    • Select the 'zip' file you just placed in your card using the 'Power' button.

  7. Your done... 
Once the update is complete select 'Reboot System Now' and your device will boot back into Android 2.3.2 Gingerbread
