Nokia N9 revealed

Not too long ago a device was leaked into the wild and was thought to be the Nokia N9. The device that was code named the C0 was designed very similar to the Nokia N8 and featured a QWERTY keyboard.

It was clear to me that the N9 had to be the upcoming Meego device from Nokia and that the C0 would take on another name down the line. The device pictured above however is the actual N9(RM-680). The N9 will be the first device from Nokia to feature Meego OS. Meego is the evolution of Maemo and Intel's Moblin.

With the announcement of Meego, Nokia N900 users hoped eagerly that they will be treated to a free upgrade. Unfortunately it wasn't meant to be, and Meego was set to debut in the N9. Check out some photos of the N9 below.

A video was made available on youtube recently demonstrating Nokia's flavoring of Meego. The demo looks extremely promising, and it would be interesting to see this actually run on the N9. Unfortunately the video has since been removed from the site.

Recently the specification of the N9 were also leaked out and they look very promising.
  • 4 inch OLED screen (800x480 resolution)
  • 1GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon Processor (QSD 8250)
  • 512 MB RAM
  • 1GB system storage
  • 64GB internal memory
  • 720p HD video recording
  • WiFi 802.11 b/g/n
  • HSPA+
  • AGPS
  • bluetooth 2.1
As promising as these specs look, i can't help feel a little disappointed that Nokia fails to innovate when it comes to features anymore. This is a company i will continue to look upto, but guys you really need to set the standards to you competition. Don't do things that have already been done. At least not with your N-Series.

It was also interesting to note that the N8's design has caught on as the standard for Nokia's N-Series. I am curious to what the readers of my post think about that.
