We know that Rovio doesn't rely solely on their Angry Birds franchise. This became evident with the release of Amazing Alex. However back in July we heard that Rovio was working on a new game which would feature the Bad Piggies. They then followed up by releasing a trailer for the game titled Bad Piggies, and now they reveled that the game will be launched on September 27th. There is not a lot of information revealed in the trailer regarding gameplay, but Rovio has stated that the Bad Piggies will not use the slingshot in the game and that the purpose is to tell the Angry Birds back story in the pigs' point of view.
The game will be made available for iOS, Android and Mac on the launch date, with Windows and Windows Phone versions following shortly afterword. We expect the Windows Phone version to be aimed at Windows Phone 8 instead of the current Windows Phone 7 devices based on Rovio's stance on developing for that platform.

Rovio Entertainment, the creators of Angry Birds, today announced their newest game, Bad Piggies, launching September 27 for iOS, Android and Mac. This innovative game turns the franchise on its head by letting the fans play as the pigs – with all new, never-before-seen gameplay – and not a slingshot in sight!
