Android is a derivative of Linux, and therefore natively works with any Linux-based system without requiring extra configurations. This also includes Mac OS X which is also a variant of Linux. However, for Windows – the most widely used PC operating system – things are little different. In Microsoft’s operating environment, any hardware component that you have attached to your system, requires proper drivers to be configured, whether it’s an internal piece of hardware or a peripheral. This becomes a problem for Android users.

Fujitsu Toshiba IS12T - Hands On Video

The Fujitsu Toshiba IS12T is the first device officially announced with Windows Phone 7.5 Mango. It officially features a 3.7" display, 13.2 MP camera with LED flash and is powered by a 1GHz processor.

The device is also dust proof and water proof, so even with it's plastic feeling exterior, you know you have a solid device in your hand.

The Fujitsu-Toshiba IS12T is the first device announced running Windows Phone 7 Mango. It is waterproof and features an earthquake warning system. The IS12T also features a 3.7 inch display, has a 13.2 MP camera, 32 GB of internal storage and is powered by a Qualcomm MSM8655 processor.

Fujitsu IS12T will feature earthquake warning system


The Fujitsu-Toshiba IS12T is the first Windows Phone Mango handset and was revealed in Japan on July 28. The device features a 13.2 megapixel camera, 32GB of internal memory, a thin water resistant design and is powered by a 1 GHz processor with 512 MB of RAM.

First Windows Phone Mango device revealed

Yesterday Microsoft revealed that Windows Phone (Mango) 7.5 has been released to manufacturing (RTM) and the first device running the latest mobile OS from Microsoft has been revealed. The device is manufactured by Fujitsu-Toshiba and is called the IS12T and will be water and dust proof which itself seems a first for a smartphone.

Toshiba and Fujitsu merge mobile divisions

Fujitsu and Toshiba are giants in the computer industry but have barely set foot in mobile market. With the vision that 'two heads are better than one' the two companies have decided to bring their mobile divisions together

More manufactures join Windows Phone 7

Samsung, HTC and LG were the first manufacturers to release Windows Phone 7 devices. Aside from Nokia who plans to use Windows Phone as their primary smartphone operating system, Three more companies have announced their interest in manufacturing Windows Phone 7 devices: namely Acer, Fujitsu and ZTE Corp.
