Samsung Galaxy Gear support comes to Galaxy S4, S3, Note 2 and more
The Samsung Galaxy Gear smartwatch launched with support for only the Samsung Galaxy Note 3, giving other Galaxy or Android owners no reason to use the accessory unless they chose to upgrade to the company's newest phablet. This is about to change, as the Android 4.3 Jelly Bean software update, which has been rolling out will extend this compatibility to the Samsung Galaxy S4, Samsung Galaxy S3 and Samsung Galaxy Note II.

Samsung Galaxy Gear 2 rumored to be in development, could be unveiled at CES
The Samsung Galaxy Gear was welcomed with much anticipation, which quickly died away when it was announced that the company's first smartwatch could only be paired with the Samsung Galaxy Note 3. Samsung may have beaten Apple with a new consumer electronic product, but according to a published report out of Korea, the mixed response to its smartwatch has put Korean OEM Samsung back to square one in what is expected to be a crowded marketplace.
The high pricing of the Galaxy Note 3 and the less than impressive battery life of the Galaxy Gear smartwatch can also be attributed to the public disappointment.
