Back in August, Barnes & Noble partnered with Samsung for the Samsung Galaxy Tab 4 NOOK. Now the book retailer has partnered with the electronics manufacturer yet again for a the Samsung Galaxy Tab 4 NOOK 10.1.
The larger-screened tablet is now available at Barnes and Noble bookstores and online, for an introductory price of $299.99, while B&N members save an additional 10%. You also get $200 of free content with your purchase, including books, magazines, apps and television shows.
The new Galaxy Tab 4 NOOK features a 10.1 inch touch display with a 1280 by 800 pixel resolution, 16GB of internal storage which can be expanded through microSD, a 3MP rear camera, a 1.3MP front camera, a 6800mAh battery, and a 1.2GHz quad-core processor with Adreno 305 graphics and 1.5GB of RAM.
While the tablet in essence is a rebranded Samsung Galaxy Tab 4 NOOK, the usual TouchWiz user interface has been replaced with Barnes & Noble's NOOK UI. The Nook UI is built with the B&N customer in mind, allowing them to quickly move between listings, for a great tablet shopping experience in both portrait and landscape mode. The new NOOK UI will also be made available for the original Samsung Galaxy Tab 4 NOOK as a software update set to arrive next month.
Unlike Amazon's tablets which run a forked version of Android, the new NOOK lineup includes Google's apps and services, which means you get a full list of apps and content through the Google Play Store, besides whats available through the NOOK shop.
