Huawei Ascend Mate 2 receiving software update


Huawei Ascend Mate 2

The is set to receive a new over-the-air (OTA) firmware update which brings the B148 build number along with several new features and improvements. Check out the changelog of what to expect from the update after the break.

The Huawei Ascend Mate 2 will be updated to build B148 from build B126 and offer the following new features, improvements and fixes
  • Photo brightness enhanced in low light conditions
  • Enhanced accuracy for voice activated shooting
  • 'Check internet accessibility' feature added to verify internet connectivity on open Wi-Fi networks
  • Option to toggle smart cover feature on/ off
  • Jittery front facing camera corrected
  • Enhanced quality when taking panoramic photos
  • Misc. bug fixes
According to Huawei, the update will start rolling out on October 8, 2014. So be sure to keep a lookout by heading to Settings. Once you receive the OTA update notification;
  • Make sure you have more than 50% charge in smartphone or plugged in.
  • Unlimited data connection to download the update (preferably Wi-Fi).
  • Approximately 10 minutes to complete the update (19.17MB).
