The HTC One M8 for Verizon is now receiving the Android 4.4.4 software update, which includes the new EYE Experience which was introduced during HTC's "Double Exposure" event a few weeks ago.
The EYE Experience is available on the HTC Desire EYE, right out of the box and other HTC handsets are also expected to receive this feature in future updates.
While Verizon has not released an official changelog, we know that the Eye Experience includes Screen Share which allows you to show someone on the other end of a video chat, exactly what is on your screen. Auto Selfie uses a few different cues to snap a selfie including a smile or saying the word "cheese". Split Capture allows you to have a split screen during a video capture. Using the front-facing camera, you describe what is being displayed with the rear-facing camera. There are also other features including one that allows you to look at four faces at the same time, during a video chat.
The update is around 210MB in size, so users are advised to connect to Wi-Fi in order to save data on the plans. It is also advised that you have at least 50% of battery life before attempting to install the update. You should get an OTA update notification when the new software is available for download. Alternately you can manually check for the update on your device by heading to Settings > Software Update > Check Now.
