Android L names teased in new videos from Google

Android L release

Google has just posted a teaser video hinting at some of the possible names it would choose for the Android L release. Android L was first announced back in June, but we have still to find out what the final name will be.

The teaser video was released on the official Android YouTube channel, and shows a set of desserts casting to be the official Android L dessert. Those in contention are Lemon Meringue Pie, Lava Cake, Lady Fingers and Lemon Drop. Even Oreo makes an appearance for no apparent reason.

At the end of the video we see the text "there can only be one L" and we are left guessing which dessert will make the final cut. Interestingly, Lollipop and Licorice - two of the names that have been rumored in the past, are nowhere in sight.

Rumors suggest that Google may unveil their next generation Nexus smartphone and tablet tomorrow, October 15 along with Android Wear 2.0, so we will likely see the final Android L name then. We saw these devices teased earlier today in a few other videos from Google.

What do you think the official name of Android L will be ? Leave us a comment and share your thoughts.
