Nokia Lumia 530 available to pre-register in India; expected to launch in third week of August

The entry-level Nokia Lumia 530 is expected to launch in India during the third week of this month, and you can now pre-register your interest in the phone from Indian online retailer Snapdeal. The phone isn't expected to cost more than 100 EUR, which is equivalent to 8000 Indian rupees or $134 USD.

The Lumia 530 is the successor to the popular Nokia Lumia 520 and the Nokia Lumia 525. Due to its affordable price and decent hardware, the Lumia 520 grew to become the most popular Windows device in history.

The Nokia 530 features a 4 inch display with a 480 by 854 pixel resolution, 4GB of internal storage which can be expanded through microSD by an additional 128GB, a 5MP fixed focus camera on its rear, a 1420mAh battery which promises up to 10 hours of talk time on 3G, and a 1.2GHz quad-core Snapdragon 200 processor with 512MB of RAM. The device offers the opportunity of customization by swapping the back covers to suite your mood or style. You also have an optional Dual SIM model if you require.

The Lumia 530 nicely fits into Microsoft's newest portfolio of affordable devices, as the most affordable Windows Phone, below the Nokia Lumia 630. Given that the Lumia 630 Dual is priced at around $150 USD, we would ideally like the Lumia 530 to dip below the $99 price range in order to be the ultimate hit.

In any case, since this is a pre-registration and not a pre-order, you are not reservice a handset or having to commit to spending any money. This is merely letting the retailer know of your interest in the device, so the retailer can ready their stock accordingly and inform you when they have the units in stock.
