Xolo WIN Q900s officially announced as world's lightest Windows Phone 8.1 device; coming next month


Indian manufacturer XOLO has introduced a new Windows Phone 8.1 device which promises to be the world's lightest Windows Phone. Meet the  which weighs just 100 grams. In comparison, the Apple iPhone 5s weighs in at 112g, the Samsung Galaxy S5 weighs 145g, and the HTC One M8 is 160g.

The Xolo WIN Q900s features a 4.7 inch display with a 720 x 1280 pixel resolution, 8GB of internal storage which can be expanded through microSD, an 8 megapixel rear camera with LED flash, a 2 megapixel front camera and a 1.2GHz Snapdragon 200 processor from Qualcomm with 1GB of RAM. Additionally the model supports dual-SIM, which is a common requirement of Indian users.



The phone was available to be pre-ordered from Snapdeal.com for 9999 Rupees ($166 USD). However, the 5000 units allocated for the pre-order have been sold out, and the next time the phone can be purchased from the site, the price will rise to 11,999 Rupees ($200 USD). The phone is expected to launch during the second week of July.
