Microsoft has released a new update for Skype on Windows Phone 8 and Windows Phone 8.1 which allows users to make a Skype video or audio call by voice, see Skype notifications on their Action Center, Edit your last sent message and more.

Skype for Windows Phone version 2.19 brings the following new features and improvements:
- Start Skype calls on the go with Cortana: You can make a Skype video or audio call using Cortana, the digital personal assistant on Windows Phone 8.1. Now you can start Skype video and audio calls by simply asking Cortana something like “Skype get Lara Kingwell on the screen”. Cortana is currently available in the US on Windows Phone 8.1.
- See your Skype notifications in the Action Centre - The Windows Phone 8.1 Notification Center allows users to see your newest email, text and other updates. Now you will also be able to track your Skype notifications on the Action Center.
- Increased language support - The update brings additional language support to Skype, now totalling 51 languages, up from 19.
- Edit message - Users will now have the ability to edit your last sent message.
- Improved notifications and fast app resume - The update also brings improvements to the performance of push notifications, the ability to get you quickly back into the conversations with a faster resume and more
