Not too long ago Sprint announced an exclusive HTC One M8 Harman Kardon Edition. Now the nation's third largest carrier is teaming up with Samsung, Under Armor and MapMyFitness to offer a special edition of the Samsung Galaxy S5, which is known as the Galaxy S5 Sport.
Other than the usual features found on the regular Galaxy S5, the Sprint exclusive Sport edition will give users access to fitness tracking and educational information. The phone will even include apps that will teach users how to exercise and eat correctly so that they can take better care of themselves.
Along with the pre-loaded health related features that come on the phone, such as the heart rate monitor, Sprint has added what it calls Sprint Fit Live to the Galaxy S5. This feature will include 12 months of free MapMyFitness MVP. Produced by Under Armour, the app gives users customized audio coaching, fitness and training plans, and live tracking of your workouts. Physically, the phone will also feature rubber grips and physical front buttons.
The Samsung Galaxy S5 Sport is available from Sprint for $0 down with 24 monthly payments of $27.09 ($650.16 not including taxes). The handset is available in Electric Blue or Cherry Red. And continuing the sports themed offering from the nation's third largest carrier, those purchasing the phone will receive a $50 credit toward the purchase of the Samsung Gear Fit fitness band.
