Nokia Lumia 925 receives Windows Phone 8.1 with Lumia Cyan in Finland as part of pilot program


Nokia Lumia 925Microsoft unveiled the next major version of their smartphone operating system, Windows Phone 8.1 back at BUILD 2014, which introduced a whole load of needed features and improvements. Nokia later stated that they will be packaging Windows Phone 8.1 as Lumia Cyan for their Windows Phone handsets. Now the much anticipated update is rolling out to select Lumia 925 users in Finland as a part of pilot project.

If you are a Lumia 925 owner living in Finland, you may want to go to Settings > Phone Update > Check for Update and see if you are eligible for the latest version of Windows Phone. But make sure you have at least 1.5GB of free space available and has at least 50% battery power. And if you don’t have time to update the device by yourself, take the it to the flagship store in Helsinki, Alexander street on June 26th and 27th, and get the update installed on you device for free.

The Lumia Cyan software update will be available as an OTA update (over the air) and has two parts. The first part after downloading the phone will automatically check for available updates. Accept all the updated proposals in order to ensure a complete update.

Windows Phone 8.1 OS will bring lots of new features to Lumia phones, including the Personal assistant Cortana, Action Center, Start screen backgrounds, and other the little things like volume controls, Data Sense, WiFi Sense, Storage Sense and more. In addition to these features from Microsoft, Lumia Cyan will brings some extra features and enhancements like Imaging improvements, updated imaging apps, Bluetooth 4.0 LE support for accessories like the Nokia Treasure Tag and more from Nokia.
