Along with Mac OS X Mavericks 10.9.3, Apple has also released iTunes version 11.2 for Mac and Windows. However, please note that the update is only available for those running 64-bit versions of Windows or Mac OS X.
You can download iTunes for Mac OS directly on your device by opening Software Update by clicking the Apple icon. If you own a Windows PC, you can run Apple Software Update from your Start Screen (menu) or by using the following link
Apple iTunes 11.2 for Mac and Windows has the following change-log:
- Improved Podcast Browsing
- Quickly find episodes you haven’t listened to in the new Unplayed tab
- Browse episodes that are available to download or stream in the Feed tab
- Save your favorite episodes to keep them on your computer
- Episodes can now be automatically deleted after you play them
- This update also resolves an issue where iTunes may become unresponsive when updating Genius and improves overall performance and stability. Podcasts for iOS 2.1 or later is recommended when syncing podcast episodes.
Moreover, you’ll be able to jump to episodes you haven’t listened to via the newly-implemented Unplayed tab, check new downloads via the Feed tab, and also store your favorite episodes onto your PC.
A pre-existing issue, which caused iTunes to freeze up when updating Genius, has also apparently been resolved, and even if you’re not a podcast user nor have experienced any problems in using iTunes, it’s highly recommended that you pick up version 11.2.
Its currently unknown if Apple plans to release a major update to iTunes during the WWDC, but we reckon it is a possibility. If you have installed this release, please share your thoughts on the update below
