The Team Win Recovery Project (TWRP) custom recovery is now available for the international, Sprint and AT&T versions of the HTC One M8. You can flash the custom recovery file onto your One M8, once you have unlocked your device on HTC's official unlock method at HTCdev.com and connected it to your PC in fastboot mode.
It seems like the root apps which work with the HTC One, work well on the M8, so thats one less thing Android modders will have to worry about.
- Download TWRP for HTC One M8 (international)
- Download TWRP for HTC One M8 on AT&T
- Download TWRP for HTC One M8 on Sprint
Please note that you select the correct recovery file for your device as they are not interchangeable. HTC One M8 users on T-Mobile will have to wait for the phone to launch on April 11th, but those with Verizon phones are probably out of luck for true custom recoveries, thanks to those carriers' policies of locked bootloaders. The AT&T model can be unlocked using the HTCdev unlock tool for now. Meanwhile, work is already underway to get root on the stock software builds for these locked phones.
