First 50 to bring an Apple iPad to Microsoft Store by Sunday get one year of free Office 365

Microsoft StoreIn case you downloaded the recently released Microsoft Office for iPad, you may have realised that the free version only allows you to read documents or make presentation. If you want to make edits or perform other advanced tasks you will require a costly Office 365 subscription.

Luckily Microsoft is giving iPad owners a chance to walk away with a year's worth of Office 365 for free.

All you have to do is head over to a Microsoft Store near you with your iPad. If you are one of the first 50 people to show up, Microsoft will give you a free copy of Office 365. The offer is set to end on Sunday, but with only 50 licenses on offer, it wouldn't likely be long before they are over.

Microsoft Office 365 generally costs $99.99 a year for regular users. While students can grab the same license for $80. Later this year Microsoft plans to release a personal edition later this spring, which will cost you just $70.

The one-year subscription includes the latest Microsoft applications, and you can share the package with up to four members of your household. You can use it on up to five PCs or Macs AND 5 iPads or Windows tablets. You also get 20GB of OneDrive cloud storage, just the place to store the Office documents you create on your iPad. Up to five people get that 20GB of storage. You can make calls in 60 countries with 60 minutes of free Skype each month. Additionally you can access your documents using Office Mobile apps for the Apple iPhone, Android and Windows Phone handsets.
